Lynne Jazz Ensemble

Lynne Jazz Ensemble is a collaborative effort, a group of like-minded musicians and performers working together to create new original jazz compositions in a style and sound typically associated with the “Golden Age” of jazz, jazz pop, crooner and lounge jazz. The group works remotely through collaborative methods such as live streaming and group meet over the internet, to create their music.

The two main drivers are Pawel Orlow from Poland, and Bjorn Lynne from Norway. Working together and inviting freelance session vocalists to join the team as and when needed, Pawel and Bjorn share a vast history of working in many different areas of music.

Pawel is a composer and performer with an extensive jazz background. Having played in various big bands as a double bassist, as well as worked as a session musician for over 10 years, he shared the stage with such outstanding artists as Marcus Miller, Antonio Sanchez, Antti Sarpilla and many others. His style is a fusion of a golden jazz era style and modern jazz/rock influences.

Bjorn is originally from Norway, but moved to England in 1995 to embark on a long and varied carreer within music, having composed and produced music for over 3 decades in styles and genres as varied as ambient background music, funk and jazz, pop and rock, progressive and symphonic rock, electronica, techno and trance – and even new age relaxation music; Bjorn is fascinated by all kinds of music, and is also the owner and founder of the music label and publishing company, Lynne Publishing.

Other performers and vocalists who are sometimes called upon to contribute their talents to Lynne Jazz Ensemble are Chris Weeks (UK), Tom Savage (UK/Spain), Emma Brunette (South Africa), Abigail Strickland (South Africa), Dirk J J van der Merwe (South Africa), Thomas Penninger (Austria), Valentina Jazz (Argentina), Dean Ager (UK), Lisa Graham (USA).
